TAEKWONDO is a Korean self-defense system that primarily uses kicking strikes and is known for its great speed and spinning techniques. The word Tae means the foot, Kwon means the fist and Do means the way or the path, therefor Taekwondo is the way of the foot and fist.

Taekwondo sparring is a practical way to apply the techniques learned in class in a controlled situation. To do so safely all students are required to have all the necessary equipment (see documents for TKD gear checklist)
Taekwondo sparring is also a sport and is played by scoring points on the chest guard and helmet.
Forms are the backbone of taekwondo training. These patterns develop coordination, flexibility, problem solving skills and more. Forms also contain the techniques associated with their level and ability.
When students learn how to move and understand the basics of body mechanics and achieve the rank of green belt, we introduce weapons training from Japanese Kobudo and Korean Kumdo. Students will learn the staff (Bo), Korean sword (Yedo) and nunchaku (single and double)
Students learn modern techniques and strategy in order to protect themselves in a real-world altercation. What sets our system apart from others is each technique is vetted and tested to verify its effectiveness against not just one attacker but multiple. We also add techniques from other martial arts like jiu-jitsu, hapkido and others.
